PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)
(a) Perform a Diagnostic System Check (See page

2. INSPECT SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag has not Deployed)
CAUTION:

follow the correct procedure.
(a) Perform a Diagnostic System Check (See page
).
(b) When the center pillar of the vehicle or its periphery is damaged, check whether there is any damage to the side airbag sensor. If there are any defects, such as those mentioned below, replace the side airbag sensor with a new one:

certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), ECM, main body ECU (multiplex network
body ECU) or combination meter assembly, and data from the option connector (bus
buffer ECU) cannot be received.
