INITIALIZATION
1. RESET MEMORY
NOTICE:
HINT:
The ECM memorizes the vehicle conditions when the ECT controls the automatic transmission assembly and transmission valve body assembly. Therefore, when the automatic transmission assembly, transmission valve body assembly or any of the shift solenoid valves has been replaced, it is necessary to reset the memory so that the ECM can memorize the new information.
The reset procedure is as follows.
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Utility / Reset Memory.
NOTICE:
After performing Reset Memory, be sure to perform the Road Test (See page
) described earlier.
HINT:
The ECM learns through the Road Test.

Manual Shifting TestPressure Control Solenoid "C" Performance (Shift Solenoid Valve SL3) (P0796)
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The ECM uses the vehicle speed signal and signals from the transmission revolution
sensors (NT, SP2) to detect the actual gear (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th gear).
The ECM compares the actual gear with the shift schedule in the ECM memory to
detect mechanical problems of t ...
