Toyota Tacoma (2015-2018) Service Manual: Remote Control System does not Operate

Toyota Tacoma (2015-2018) Service Manual / Sliding Roof / Sliding Roof System / Remote Control System does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) receives remote control signals from the driver door key cylinder or wireless transmitter. Then, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) sends the remote control signals to the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) via LIN communication. The sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) receives those signals and activates the sliding roof motor.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • The sliding roof key-linked function and sliding roof wireless transmitter-linked function can be customized. Make sure that both functions are ON (See page When the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) is ).
  • When the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) is removed and reinstalled or replaced, the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) must be initialized (See page Since the sliding roof system has functions that use LIN communication, ).
  • Since the sliding roof system has functions that use LIN communication, first confirm that there is no malfunction in the LIN communication system with the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure (See page When sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) DTC is ).
  • When sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) DTC is output, first perform troubleshooting for the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly) DTC.
